Fabrizio Romano reveals that Manchester still believe that Tottenham must not sell

Fabrizio Romano says club will focus on another striker target instead of Harry Kane

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United still believe Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Harry Kane to them.

Earlier this week, we relayed a report from The Mirror which claimed that Man Utd were on red alert after Tottenham’s majority owner Joe Lewis issued an ultimatum to c that Kane would have to be sold if he does not sign a new contract.

The report explained that the Red Devils had pulled out of the race for the England captain earlier in the summer as they found the £110m asking price to be excessive but the Old Trafford hierarchy now have renewed hope that the price will come down.

Man Utd still feel Harry Kane is out of reach

Romano has now said on his YouTube channel (starting at 4:06) that despite suggestions to the contrary, United have not restarted dialogue with Tottenham regarding Kane.

The journalist states that while Erik Ten Hag is a big fan of the 29-year-old and believes he would be a perfect fit for his system, the Manchester club feel that Spurs will not sell their talisman to them.

In addition, United also allegedly feel that the total financial package to sign Kane would be too expensive, which is why they are expected to push ahead with a move for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund instead.

It has been clear right from the start of the window that Levy would not consider selling Kane to a Premier League rival unless there is an astronomical offer. It also appears as if a move to the Allianz Arena is the 29-year-old’s top preference as well.
