Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez has ‘decided not to accept’ an offer from Spartak Moscow despite the two clubs reaching an agreement for him to move.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say the Colombian defender has, for the time being, turned down the move to Russia.

They explain that Spartak Moscow has reached an agreement with Tottenham over a transfer valued at around £12m, or €14m.

Sanchez, though, is not willing to accept the offer from the Russian team ‘at the moment’. That’s a decision that Tottenham ‘have not digested’ so far, so much so that they’ve asked the defender to train on his own

They’re determined to sell the player this summer as his contract expires next summer and he would free to negotiate with clubs come the January transfer window. That is, obviously, something they’re keen to avoid and want to sell him for a fee this summer instead.

They were more than happy to sell to Spartak and take their money, but Sanchez’s refusal has put a temporary block on that plan for the time being.

The suggestion seems to be Sanchez is holding off and would prefer to wait and assess his options, rather than rush for the move to Moscow.

Whether that means the deal is completely off remains to be seen, particularly with Tottenham very keen to sell.
