BREAKING NEWS: Bayern Munich have submitted a €70 million bid for

Bayern Munich are still ‘significantly short’ of Spurs’ Harry Kane’s valuation

Bayern Munich have followed up their interest by tabling an opening offer for Spurs and England striker Harry Kane.

Kane, record goalscorer for both club and country, is out of contract in the summer of 2024 and negotiations were put on hold last season.

He has been heavily linked with both Manchester United and Real Madrid, who are both known admirers of the 29-year-old.

However, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, it’s Bundesliga giants Bayern who have submitted a formal bid.

The Bavarians, managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, have offered €70 million plus add-ons for the striker – though the bid is expected to be rejected.

Kane was a top target for Manchester City a couple of years back but they ultimately backed away from negotiations after being priced out by Daniel Levy.

After a year playing without a recognised striker, City snapped up Erling Haaland, who hit a record-breaking 52 goals in 53 games in all competitions as Pep Guardiola’s side won a historic treble.

After a year playing without a recognised striker, City snapped up Erling Haaland, who hit a record-breaking 52 goals in 53 games in all competitions as Pep Guardiola’s side won a historic treble.

Haaland was the only player who found the net in the Premier League more times than Kane, who bagged 30 goals in a poor Spurs side which finished in lowly eighth place and missed out on European football.

Despite being one of the very best strikers of his generation, Kane has still yet to lift a trophy in his career. At Bayern, silverware would appear to be as close to a guarantee as possible given they have won 11 league titles in a row.

Last season’s triumph wasn’t as dominant as we’ve come to expect from Bayern, who pipped Borussia Dortmund on the final day after a dramatic winner from substitute Jamal Musiala away at Koln.

Former Stoke and PSG striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting led the line following the departure of lethal frontman Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.
