Tyler Adams speaks out about Leeds United fans as big-money transfer  agreed after huge

Former Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has sent a heartfelt message to the fans of the club following his move to Bournemouth on 20 August.

Adams took to Instagram to praise the fans, while he admits he wishes he could have done more in the white shirt at Elland Road, and revealed he will always be grateful for his time in Yorkshire playing for Leeds in the Premier League.

The American missed the latter stages of last season and was unable to contribute in efforts to avoid relegation which the club ultimately succumbed to due to an injury which he is still yet to recover from.

The U.S.A captain took to Instagram after his move was confirmed [20 August], stating: “Not an easy goodbye. The club, my teammates and the fans have supported me since day 1, and I wish I could’ve given more in the home stretch. Forever grateful for this past year.”

Adams was the latest of a number of Leeds players to exit Elland Road following their relegation from the Premier League due to release clauses inserted into a number of players’ contracts by the former management of Victor Orta.

Despite some of the attitudes from Leeds fans towards Adams, his goodbye message feels as heartfelt and emotional as you will see in football. His admission that he could have done more to help the club survive relegation will be felt by fans and is a brave thing to admit.

The goodbye message was focused around the fans and the club, as Adams shows a clear appreciation for what they have offered him during his time in England, but his move was inevitable ever since the end of last season, it was just a matter of time.

Leeds fans have had a frustrating summer as they have seen a number of their key players and favourite stars leave the club in search of better opportunities, rather than staying at Elland Road to help in fixing the mess that they played a part in creating.

The club will now need to focus on finding an adequate replacement for Adams, with the money from his move set to be put back into the squad as they look to strengthen despite exiting players.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on another exiting player.
