Everton to up their bid?

Everton appear to the team holding the strongest interest so far in the Italian international, having reportedly tabled a £25million offer with add-ons included in that package – plus a sell-on clause.

Now, Football Transfers are reporting that the Toffees have seen that £20+5million offer rejected by Leeds, with an offer in the region of £30million being weighed up now.

Gnonto has already agreed personal terms as his agent orchestrates Goodison Park talks, while they appear no closer to agreeing a fee at this stage – the report claims that Gnonto’s talks with the Merseyside club have been ongoing since spring.

Should Leeds cash in on Gnonto?

If Everton want to sign Gnonto, they surely know by now that they are going to have to pay a significant sum to bring him in.

What we saw on Sunday from Sean Dyche’s side is that they are going to need major investment if they do want to stay up, because they were abysmal.

It makes it even more intriguing that this is the club that he’s trying to force his way to, unlikely to enjoy the football on display, just as we struggled last term.
