Great News: as a 24-year-old refused £50m moves, that he must play for his Personal team

‘Personal terms agreed’: Fabrizio Romano drops big transfer update on 24-year-old Wolves man

Wolves now face the prospect of losing Matheus Nunes just a week before the transfer deadline with Manchester City very keen to sign the midfielder.

News emerged yesterday that City were considering making an approach.

They’ve lost talisman Kevin De Bruyne to injury, and are now looking to bolster their pool of options.

As well as Nunes, Eberechi Eze is a player of interest to City.

But it’s Nunes who seems to be taking City’s fancy more.

And Fabrizio Romano dropped a big update on the situation last night…

Manchester City have made first bid for Matheus Nunes, and he’s agreed personal terms

It has not taken long for City to make an active push for Nunes.

Just hours after word came about the club’s interest, it has now been claimed City have made a first bid for Nunes.

Fabrizio Romano said on Twitter last night: “Understand Manchester City have now submitted initial bid to Wolverhampton for Matheus Nunes.

“Told proposal is in excess of €50 million fee with add-ons discussed in the package. Nunes has already accepted City as destination, personal terms agreed.”

Romano says there has been a bid. But various outlets and journalists in the UK are saying one hasn’t arrived officially just yet.

It has previously been suggested Wolves will only sell for an ‘inflated’ fee.

Nunes seemingly wants to go, which complicates things for Wolves

If it’s true that Nunes has already agreed personal terms then that is a worry for Wolves.

That indicates the player is ready to leave, and also potentially puts Wolves under pressure to accept a lower fee than they would like.

The financial situation of Wolves works in City’s favour here.

They and all other clubs know that Wolves need money, and so it may not be possible for Wolves to ask for a massive sum.

It will be fascinating to see how this now plays out.

One thing is for sure; sporting director Matt Hobbs is going to be one very busy man in the next week or so.
