‘Absolutely useless’: Ex-England star slams £100,000-a-week player after Forest clash

After Forest’s loss, Gabby Agbonlahor calls a Chelsea player making £100,000 a week “absolutely useless.”

Former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor was not impressed with what he saw from Mykhailo Mudryk in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Mykhailo Mudryk came on in the second half with Chelsea 1-0 down but was unable to help his side turn things around.

in talkSPORT, Agbonlahor commented about the winger, saying, “Mudryk come in, he nearly gave away two goals. Really, he was completely unhelpful. He hasn’t scored in 19 games.

This season, Mudryk is yet to make his Mauricio Pochettino debut, and his performance against Forest was not good enough to earn a spot in the starting lineup for Chelsea’s upcoming match.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the 22-year-old is still recovering from his injury when analysing the Forest game.

Not because of Mykhailo Mudryk did Chelsea lose.
It would likely be unreasonable to hold Mudryk accountable for Chelsea’s loss to Steve Cooper’s team.

Mudryk did not even enter the game, and Nicolas Jackson missed a clear-cut opportunity to score late in the second half. Other players also had scoring chances.

The £100,000 per week (Spotrac) Ukrainian international must perform significantly better moving forward, or else his transfer to Stamford Bridge will be a complete failure.

Although Mudryk still has time to turn things around, which he hopefully does, it hasn’t thus far. If Chelsea is to have any chance of making the Champions League this season—which is already starting to appear like an extremely difficult job given their dismal start to the season—Pochettino will need all of his players to perform at their best.

Although there is still a ways to go, events at Stamford Bridge have already become ugly.
