Just hours before the deadline, the player that Wolfes intended to sign was cut from the team.

Boulaye Dia was not included in the Wolves squad after their Thursday offer for him was rejected by Salernitana.

Along with Southampton’s Che Adams, the forward was high on Wolves’ list of priorities for the forward position.

With the intention of making the loan permanent at the end of the season, Wolves have made an offer to loan Dia.

According to Sébastien Denis, the Serie A team turned down this offer, although the player wasn’t overly happy about it.

According to reports, Dia was devastated to learn that his club had rejected his request to transfer to Molineux.

Dia was cut from the Salernitana team.
Dia’s desperation to depart has obviously not been well received by Salernitana as he has now been left out of the team for the team’s match on Sunday.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the cause was his response to the rejection.

He wrote on X, ”

“Due to Boulaye Dia’s response when his team opted against selling him to Wolves, Salernitana have not called him up for the match tomorrow.

“The official bid, which was presented here yesterday, was made on Thursday night and rejected by Salernitana.”

Could Wolves go back on a bargain?

Dia is obviously no longer content at Salernitana, therefore it’s feasible that Wolves will try to sign him again in January when the Italians would be more receptive to a transfer.

Wolves ultimately failed to acquire their desired striker, therefore Dia will be aiming to stay on their radar during the upcoming transfer window.

The only catch would be that the striker position might already be filled if Sasa gets going and starts to impress.

However, if Old Gold decides they still need a forward in January, Dia will undoubtedly be at the top of their list.
