Good news: a fantastic midfielder has agreed to sign a permanent contract.

Declan Rice cites Rodri of Manchester City as an example of a midfielder.

Declan Rice, a midfielder for both Manchester City and Arsenal, has named Rodri as the player he most aspires to be like and has praised him as the best in the Premier League in his position.

After making a high-profile summer transfer from West Ham, Rice has shown to be one of the best central midfielders in the English Premier League and has adapted well to life at Arsenal.

The 24-year-old is obviously a big fan of Rodri, whom he views as the gold standard for players at the base of midfield, but he is still eager to learn.

Rice told Channel 4 that among the players he aspires to be like, “Rodri is obviously the main one in the Premier League; he’s incredible.”

You can tell he’s a top player by how hard he works and how he keeps the Man City club moving forward.

The former captain of the Hammers also had kind words for Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid and Thomas Partey, his new colleague at Arsenal.

Party was amazing when I first joined Arsenal and remained so till his injury, said Rice.

Tchouameni at Real Madrid is a young player who is active, receives the ball and drives forward with it.
