Fans of Wolves are well known that their club attempted to sign Boulaye Dia at the last minute, but Salernitana, where he currently plays, rejected their efforts.
The striker wasn’t too pleased with the circumstance. He had intended to seize the opportunity to transfer to the Premier League and experience everything it had to offer, including the higher salaries offered to players.
The Serie A club reacted to his attempts to press for a transfer to Wolves by taking action, reportedly fining him almost 15% of his monthly salary.
Naturally, that didn’t go over too well either, and Dia didn’t make her anticipated return to Salerno from her overseas assignment. Instead, he went to France while claiming that he was postponing his return for personal reasons.
Sky Italia now reports that peace has returned, in part due to the “mediation” efforts of sporting director Morgan De Sanctis.
Salernitana’s management went out of his way to compliment the player, giving the impression that the team was prepared to forget and go on.
According to Sky Italia’s report on Paulo Sousa, “I saw him this morning, then he left for some medical consultations. He is a young man who has consistently given his all on the pitch, which is what I expect of every player.
