Norwich striker is seriously injured and will undergo surgery

When he hit the goal on August 26 against Huddersfield, the American international injured ligaments. After hurting himself while attempting to block a clearance, he managed to put the ball in the goal, but he was unable to continue.

Since then, Sargent has undergone surgery, making him unavailable to represent his nation during the break in international play. Prior to being injured, the 23-year-old attacker had five Championship games with three goals, and he was enjoying a nice return to form.

 

David Wagner, the manager of Norwich, expects to have Sargent back in his employ either early in 2024 or over the busy holiday season. Providing an update on the Missourian, he has stated: “We saw Josh on Wednesday for the first time in the building following his operation. Good looking. Obviously, after speaking with him, I can report that he is no longer in need of painkillers, which is fantastic news. He finishes his stitches the following week, The following step remains the time range we established – Christmas or early January – when we plan to have him return. So far, everything has gone nicely. But right now, it’s all about healing, having a proper rehab, and then properly building up his fitness.
