big blow for rangers: best player of the season had an injury and will undergo for surgery

Following the confirmation of the Rangers injury news, Nicolas Raskin speaks up.
Following Michael Beale’s announcement that he would be out with an injury for Rangers’ Europa League encounter against Real Betis, Nicolas Raskin has responded.

The Belgian has started every game in the Scottish Premiership and Champions League qualifying for Beale so far this season, but he will now join players like Todd Cantwell and Danilo in the treatment room.

After the 22-year-old failed to show up for practise on Wednesday (20 September), Beale later disclosed in his news conference that the calf injury would keep the player out of action until after the international break.

On September 20th, he wrote in his Instagram story: “Unfortunately, I suffered a little injury.

“I’m making every effort to return soon.”

hefty blow

After a challenging start to the season, Beale and his squad are still under significant pressure to turn things around. To do this, the Ibrox manager needs players he can rely on to be healthy and available.

Losing Raskin just as the season picks up steam with European games in addition to the usual domestic schedule is extremely unlucky for both Rangers and Beale and leaves the manager of the Light Blues with yet another challenge to overcome.

The Gers have six games left in the Scottish Premiership and the Europa League before the next international break, so Beale will need to find a way to keep his team winning and try to reduce the gap on Celtic without their star midfielder.

If the injury is as minor as Raskin has claimed, there is a good chance that he will recover sooner than anticipated. Rangers should at least be able to get a few of their other injured players back to provide some cover in the middle of the park.

Barry Ferguson has identified one player on whom Beale will rely “big time” this season in other Rangers news.
