After an emotional return, a Leicester City great writes the Blue Army, “With me forever.”
Following his return to the King Power Stadium with Bristol City on Saturday, Andy King posted an emotional message to the club and its supporters on Twitter.
Andy King, a legendary member of Leicester City, has remarked that the welcome he received upon returning to the King Power Stadium will “live with me forever.” King was the first and only player to win the League One, Championship, and Premier League championships with the same club. He spent 16 years with the club and made over 375 first team appearances.
He made a comeback on Saturday, playing for Nigel Pearson’s Bristol City team in their 1-0 loss thanks to a Jamie Vardy penalty.
Aside from the on-field action, King, Pearson, Matty James, and Dave Rennie were making an emotional comeback. When King ran outside to warm up in front of the West Stand and Family Stand, he was greeted with loud cheers and applause.

“Leicester City, words don’t always do a feeling or circumstance justice, yesterday was one of those afternoons,” he wrote. I could not have anticipated the welcome you gave me, and the emotions I experienced then will always be a part of me.
“I’m so happy I had the chance to come back and meet you all once again and had the opportunity to relive all those wonderful experiences after the game. I wish you luck for the remainder of the year. Kingy.”
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a midfielder for current City, found the moment to be significant as well. Dewsbury-Hall responded to a post on X complimenting the respect that King’s followers had shown by saying, “Deservedly so.
