Damian Lillard Discusses the ‘Toughest Moment’ of the Milwaukee Bucks Trade

Trades are never easy in the Milwaukee Bucks. Not even if the player in question requested the move in the first place.

This is the situation with Damian Lillard, who has joined the Milwaukee Bucks to compete for his first NBA championship. But it’s an unquestionably painful situation for the seven-time All-Star, who is saying goodbye to the Portland Trail Blazers after 11 years with the team.

Damian Lillard Opens Up About the Milwaukee Bucks Trade
Lillard was brutally honest about his recent relocation to Milwaukee in a recent interview with Marc J. Spears of andscape.

Dame’s saga lasted two months after he announced his intention to depart Portland. To say the least, it was a difficult scenario for Lillard, but it was ultimately what he desired. But that didn’t make things any simpler.

When asked what he considers to be the most difficult aspect of all of this, Lillard cited his “tight group of friends” who helped him get through all of the drama. Dame also mentioned that his faith had an important role in his path.

Regardless, the 33-year-old said that uprooting his family was difficult.

is the most difficult pill he’s had to swallow:
“The hardest time came, I would say, when I started to really think about having to move my kids from an environment that they’ve become accustomed to,” he stated. “The same people they see, their friends, the people who help them that they spend a lot of time with, being around their cousins.”

“It could be any Sunday where my mom says, ‘We are doing Sunday dinner at my house.'” And when we arrive, it’s all my brother’s kids and all my cousin’s kids. There are 16 youngsters running around, and my children are among them. It’s as if I’m robbing them of their environment to get what I desire for myself. So, when I actually sat with it becoming a reality, that was the most difficult time for me.”

That’s difficult. And the fact that he knows deep down that he wants to leave Portland to advance in his professional career must make everything much more difficult. His own personal decision put his family in a difficult predicament.

Lillard was with the Blazers for more than a decade, and there’s no disputing that he built a lot of relationships – both on and off the floor. It must be even more difficult for his children. Dame had family in Portland, and having to force his children out of that circumstance can’t be easy.

But, as they say, this all comes with the territory.
