Goodbye everyone : lions announced a shocking departure just now

Donovan Peoples-Jones Sends a Message to the Browns Following Trade

Donovan Peoples-Jones was traded by the Cleveland Browns to the Detroit Lions before the trade deadline, and the wide receiver had a message for his now-former team.

Peoples-Jones was a sixth-round choice of the Browns in 2020, and his good play has helped him rapidly ascend the depth chart in Cleveland. In 2022, he had his greatest year, catching 61 catches for 839 yards and three touchdowns.

Peoples-Jones, despite being listed as one of the Browns’ starting receivers, did not have the same role this season. He was targeted only eight times in the first seven games, netting eight catches for 97 yards.

There was no ill will from Peoples-Jones following the trade, with the pass-catcher sharing a message for the Browns on social media.

“Cleveland, I’d like to thank the ownership and coaching staff for the incredible opportunity I’ve had over the last few years.” “I’m so grateful for every experience, lesson, and time that I’ve been given in Cleveland,” Peoples-Jones wrote. “I’m grateful to the staff and everyone else in the building with whom I had daily interactions.” I will always adore my teammates, and I treasure the fraternity that I’ve been a part of for the past several years. Thank you also to the Cleveland fans who have welcomed me and have been nothing but supportive since the day I came. I wish the Browns and Cleveland nothing but the best in the future.”

He then delivered a message to his new squad. Peoples-Jones grew up in Detroit and attended the University of Michigan.

“DETROIT!! “I’m thrilled and grateful for this opportunity!” Peoples-Jones penned.

On social media, the Browns also said goodbye to Peoples-Jones.

“Thank you, DPJ!” tweeted the Browns’ official account. “I appreciate your determination on the pitch and your dependability as a teammate.” Best wishes for your return home.

Browns Don’t Add to Roster at Trade Deadline

The Browns had certain positions they could have addressed before the trade deadline, particularly quarterback, where Deshaun Watson’s health is a major concern. The Browns, on the other hand, elected to sit out the trade deadline, sending Peoples-Jones to Detroit as their only transaction. It earned the team a sixth-round draught selection.

Optimists believe it signals the Browns are confident in Watson’s ability to return to the starting this week against the Arizona Cardinals. It would also imply that the Browns have faith in their team as a whole and did not feel the need to splurge at the trade deadline.

With Peoples-Jones out of the picture, the expectation is that rookie Cedric Tillman will see more work. Tillman has played sparingly this season but the third-round pick should slide in for more time alongside Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore.

Browns Make Notable Addition to Running Back Room

The Browns did not make a trade to acquire a player before the deadline, but they did add Kenyan Drake to their running back group. He was brought to the practise squad on Wednesday and might be promoted to the active roster after he learns the playbook.

Drake is in his eighth season after graduating from Alabama. Drake has appeared in 103 games, starting 44 of them, and has 868 carries for 3,866 yards and 33 touchdowns. Drake has two receptions for 31 yards in two games for the Ravens this season. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the third round in 2016.

Drake had his greatest season with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020. He gained 955 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.
