Sad departure : Raiders coach have been fired just not

“The Raiders’ head coach, Antonio Pierce, was destined to be” — Skip Bayless | The Skip Bayless Show

Josh McDaniels’s employment was finally lost as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders due to the team’s lack of performance. But owner Mark Davis’s decision to start over was heavily influenced by culture.

Under McDaniels, Davis said the players’ former “joy” of being Raiders diminished. Even yet, one of his former teammates claims he missed the memo that wearing the silver and black was no longer enjoyable.

After speaking with a few Raiders, Carpenter found that most of them had nothing but good to say about the individual. But while everything was falling apart around the Raiders, McDaniels was blind and foolishly pushed ahead with the same offensive strategy that, at best, had the club standing still and, at worst, moving backward.

The team’s direction under McDaniels resulted in dissatisfaction, a misplaced locker room, and a very irate owner.

Davis voiced his concerns to head coach Josh McDaniels prior to the team’s decision to remove him and general manager Dave Ziegler. This discussion was held in advance of the team’s Week 8 game against the Detroit Lions.

Several members of the team or coaching staff reportedly had their names mentioned during the airing of grievances, but McDaniels was too, leaving him “Distant, hurt,” according to another player.

Although the sample size is tiny, the Raiders have come together under Antonio Pierce as their new interim head coach following the departures of McDaniels and Ziegler. After thrashing the New York Giants 30–6 in Week 9, the Raiders are 1-0 under Pierce.
