Florida’s Coral Gables (AP) — All-American safety Kamren Kinchens was carted off the pitch following a nasty hit late in the Hurricanes’ victory over Texas A&M, but Miami football coach Mario Cristobal says Kinchens is “in good shape.”
During his weekly segment on WQAM, the school’s flagship radio partner, on Monday morning, Cristobal stated that all test results have been positive. On Sunday, Kinchens was discharged from the hospital. His family shared a picture of him on social media that showed him in the hospital bed, adding that he was “doing better” and thanking everyone for their support.
Cristobal stated on Monday, “Ran all the tests and all the evaluations and he’s in good shape.” “He is alright. He will recover well. He is going to be excellent. He doesn’t have any extremely pressing issues. All he has is some football gear. We’re going to be really well.
A significant blow to Kinchens’ upper body appeared to occur during Miami’s 48-33 victory over Texas A&M, which was ranked No. 23 at the time. Before wheeling him off the pitch, medical personnel worked on him for a few minutes.
The length of time the team anticipates Kinchens being out of commission was not disclosed by Cristobal. After upsetting the previously ranked Aggies, No. 22 Miami made a comeback to the AP Top 25 this week. They will host Bethune-Cookman on Thursday night.
