Jazz Provide All-Star Lauri Markkanen’s Injury Update
The Utah Jazz forward appears to be out for some time.
Lauri Markkanen, an All-Star forward for the Utah Jazz, has been sidelined for the last few games due to a hamstring strain. Even though this team won both of his games against the New Orleans Pelicans, we know how much better this team can be when their best offensive player is on the court.
But it appears that Markkanen won’t be with the Jazz for very long. In light of his ongoing rehabilitation, Lauri will not accompany Utah on their forthcoming two-game road trip, per the team’s most recent injury report on X. Before a nine-day break, he will have one more opportunity to suit up on December 2nd against the Portland Trail Blazers.
In his 15 appearances, Markkanen has averaged 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while playing with a respectable 48.4/38.3/84.0 efficiency rating. Players like John Collins, Jordan Clarkson, and possibly even rookie Keyonte George should be among the few who step up in his absence without his scoring impact.
The Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves, two teams the Jazz have faced earlier in the season, will be Utah’s opponents on their next road trip. Given that Markkanen participated in each of those matches, Will Hardy’s team faces a new challenge in these next two.
