PAUL, SAY WHAT ON NOV. 29? This weekend, the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma State Cowboys will battle for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The Horns will probably need to lose to Florida State in addition to defeating Oklahoma State in order to remain in the conversation.

In that case, Texas ought to be admitted. Paul Finebaum, though, believes otherwise if Alabama defeats Georgia in the SEC Championship game.

“I think Texas and Alabama are very close,” Finebaum stated on ESPN’s Get Up. “There’s only one reason I’ll give Alabama the advantage, and that’s because they would have triumphed over the nation’s largest bully. Though I think Alabama is a better team than Georgia when it comes to college football, that September 9 game still holds significance for me.”

Finebaum tried to ignore the game in Tuscaloosa, but the Horns defeated Alabama in the head-to-head match by double digits. And we can’t overlook that.

Additionally, Texas beats Alabama in almost every category according to ESPN’s FPI rankings, which consider every aspect of a team’s resume.

The Aggies and Longhorns have not faced off on the gridiron since 2011, when the Longhorns won 27-25 on a walk-off field goal.

Texas will also reportedly play Georgia on Oct. 19 and Arkansas on Nov. 16.
