Minnesota vikings key player suffers career ending injury

Final Injury Report for the Vikings vs. Packers: Addison, Blackmon, Murphy, O’Neill
It’s uncertain if Jordan Addison (ankle) will play against Green Bay on Sunday night.

Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) is questionable to play in Sunday night’s game against the Packers. So is fellow rookie Mekhi Blackmon (shoulder), who will start at cornerback if he’s available.

Ruled out for the Vikings are CB Byron Murphy Jr., S Theo Jackson, WR Jalen Nailor, and DT Jaquelin Roy. Backup LB Troy Dye is also questionable.

It would be big for the Vikings if Addison and Blackmon can play. Addison would be a major part of the offensive attack against Green Bay’s struggling defense (which won’t have suspended corner Jaire Alexander) in the first home start for rookie QB Jaren Hall. If Blackmon can’t go, the Vikings will be down to Akayleb Evans and Andrew Booth Jr. as their starting corners with Murphy missing a second consecutive game.

OLB D.J. Wonnum and TE T.J. Hockenson were placed on injured reserve this week. Starting in their place will be Patrick Jones II and Johnny Mundt, respectively. Josh Oliver will also be heavily involved for the Vikings at tight end, as usual, but Mundt projects to step into Hockenson’s receiving role.

In addition to Alexander, the Packers are expected to be without WR Christian Watson and LB De’Vondre Campbell, who are both listed as doubtful. S Darnell Savage and WR Dontayvion Wicks are questionable.
