Scotty Pippen Jr. hasn’t quite reached the heights of his illustrious father, Scottie Pippen. But you wouldn’t know it from Larsa Pippen‘s Instagram, where she was quick to share his highlights from the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League.
Big shoes for Pippen to fill
Larsa, Scottie Sr.’s ex-wife, was simply hyping up her NBA hopeful son. While his breakaway dunk she reposted wasn’t exactly a SportsCenter Top 10 highlight, it was a continuation of his strong G League campaign for the Los Angeles Lakers‘ affiliate.
This season, he is averaging 21 points per game, with just under five rebounds and six assists per contest. Scotty Jr. got his first chance at the NBA last season, playing six games with LA on a short term contract before returning to the G League.
When your dad was one of the NBA’s Top 50 Players, it is difficult to live up to the hype, but Scotty has great support from both of his co-parents. Larsa Pippen, of course, knows this better than anyone. She is dating Marcus Jordan, son of Scottie Pippen’s former Chicago Bulls running mate Michael Jordan, who you might have heard of.
