Should the Rams pursue Colts free agent Kenny Moore II?
The Los Angeles Rams’ secondary may use some help, and free agent Kenny Moore II could be a viable option.
The Los Angeles Rams underperformed in pass defense this year, ranking 25th in the NFL with an average of 255.0 yards allowed per game.

So, with that in mind, should the team consider recruiting one or two free agents to strengthen their secondary?

Brad Spielberger of PFF listed the best free agents available this offseason at each position, and one of the Rams’ most intriguing cornerback prospects is Indianapolis Colts veteran Knny Mooree II.

“Moore pushed for an early re-up on the four-year extension he signed in 2019, but his efforts were to no avail as the Colts worked to overhaul the roster and get younger in the secondary, in particular,” the writer writes. “Fortunately for Moore, he posted a career-high 79.3 coverage grade and a 71.5 run-defense grade, his sixth straight season above 65.0. Moore became only the 28th player in NFL history to record two pick-sixes in the same game with his great Week 9 effort, and he can now try to build on a strong season.

This past season, the Rams’ defense ranked in the bottom half of the league in terms of passing yards allowed per game and total. If the Rams add a veteran like Moore, those figures may potentially fall.

Moore concluded the season with 93 total tackles, which is a good amount for a corner, especially given that he is only 5-9.

Whether the Rams sign a free agent like Moore or trade for a veteran, like they did in the past, the secondary is one of the areas that must be addressed if the team hopes to compete next season.
