Cardinals reconnect with WR Dan Chisena and seal ‘futures’ contract
The Arizona Cardinals have been signing many guys to contracts this offseason, and they are doing it again.
Returning to Arizona, wide receiver Dan Chisena has signed a “futures” deal.
Chisena appeared in four games for the Cardinals last season, assisting on two tackles, playing one offensive snap and 53 special teams snaps.

After the Cardinals’ season ended, Chisena was added to the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad for the playoffs, where he played 34 special teams snaps.
Chisena joins a group of receivers who have signed “futures” contracts, including Daniel Arias, Kaden Davis, Andre Baccellia, and Jeff Smith.
Michael Wilson, Zach Pascal, and Rondale Moore are all wide receivers that will return to Arizona next season under contract, while Greg Dortch and Marquise Brown will enter free agency.

As the Cardinals went through physicals and began the process of exit interviews on Monday, some of the work of putting together the offseason 90-man roster began.
The team re-signed eight players from its practice squad, who would have been free agents at the end of the week, to “futures” contracts. The contracts do not take effect until the start of the new league year on March 13, but they inform the player that he will have a roster slot when that time comes.
Bernhard Seikovits, a tight end who has previously been with the squad for the maximum three seasons on an international exemption, is among those who will return. Fortunately for Seikovits, the NFL has implemented a new rule allowing every team to have an international player on the practice squad, resetting his timeframe with the Cardinals.
