Why Are Players Leaving ? Star Player Sends farewell Message To Fans As He Leaves The Team Due To……..

Former five-star recruit Quade Green leaves the Kentucky basketball programme.
Green is the latest in a long line of departed star recruits to leave the UK.

Coach John Calipari has announced that Quade Green, a former five-star point guard prospect, will leave the programme. CatsPause.com and The Athletic first reported that Green was pondering a move. Calipari later verified this theory.

“I met with Quade yesterday and we talked through a lot of different things,” Calipari said in an interview. “The thing that struck me the most was what a wonderful child Quade is. He felt trapped in a situation he couldn’t solve, and he had the maturity to come in, sit down, and speak it out with me.

“Quade has my full backing for this choice. We haven’t had many kids leave, but when they do, we always encourage them and, in most cases, keep in touch. I hope that is the case with Quade.”

Green, a sophomore, played 34 games and started 13 as a true freshman last season, averaging 9.3 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game. Nine games into his second season in Lexington, he’s been demoted to an off-the-bench position, playing less minutes in the Wildcats’ deep point guard rotation. True freshman Ashton Hagans and Immanuel Quickley are leading Green in minutes played.

Green will be the latest former top recruit to leave Kentucky, following Charles Matthews, Marcus Lee, Kyle Wiltjer, Tai Wynyard, and Sacha Killeya-Jones, among others.

Green averaged 7.8 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 rebounds a game this season while shooting 42.3 percent from the 3-point line.
