JUST IN : Detroit Lions have just make five moves As

The Lions may clear more than $46 million in salary space before free agency with these five new moves.
As free agency approaches, here’s an updated list of five moves the Detroit Lions may make to free up contract money.

1. Extend Taylor Decker to free up $9.9 million.
Decker is nearing the last year of his contract. As the offseason began, he made it quite obvious what he desired.

“I definitely want to end my career here,” Decker stated.Of course, you desire money, but I enjoy being here. I adore being here…..I don’t know what happens with the contract. So far, there has been no substantive progress (in discussions). But, finally, do I want to stay here forever? One hundred percent. So, we shall see.”

It will take two to tango for Decker, the team’s longest-tenured player, to remain a Lion for the rest of his career. But it’s reasonable to believe the sentiment is mutual, and Decker should have many more productive years in his career as he approaches his age-31 season. He’s a key element of one of the NFL’s greatest offensive lines, and it’s difficult to find a left tackle who can compete with him.

Decker’s contract extension is undoubtedly on the Lions’ radar this offseason; it’s simply a question of discussing duration, extra money, and other details in what should be a non-contentious discussion. Getting it done might net $9.99 million.
