This Is So Painful: Giants Star Sends Emotional Message To Fans Following Another Injury With……..

Giants’ Evan Neal suffered a fractured ankle before landing on the IR.

Evan Neal, the New York Giants’ second-year right tackle, reportedly shattered his ankle during the team’s November 5 game in Las Vegas against the Raiders.

The initial diagnosis was an ankle sprain, but additional information this week revealed that Neal had a fracture and will require surgery. He hasn’t played since that game and was just placed on injured reserve.

From the New York Post:

Evan Neal’s rehab from a sprained ankle wasn’t going according to plan, and now the Giants know why.

A CT scan revealed that Neal fractured a small bone in his left ankle, a source confirmed to The Post, and that was the impetus for shutting down the former first-round draft pick by placing him on injured reserve.

Neal has had a rocky start to his NFL career when the Giants drafted him seventh overall in the 2022 NFL draft. He missed four games last season due to a knee injury and has only played in seven this season. There has been talk of moving him inside to guard, but head coach Brian Daboll will save that decision for after the season.

“Right now getting ready to play the Rams, so all that stuff will be evaluated when there is a time for it but really focused on this week,” Daboll said in a statement on Friday.

When asked what kind of skillset he looks for to determine whether a player can kick inside from tackle to guard, Daboll didn’t say much.

“It’s probably going to be a lengthy conversation, so some individuals will go inside, and some guys who played inside can play outside. Some males played outside, while others played indoors. “I believe that each player and situation is unique,” he stated.

Neal has struggled with the speed rush, and to be honest, he hasn’t looked like the stud he was in college at Alabama. The injuries have hampered his development, and the Giants must be afraid that they may be dealing with a bust.
