Warrington Wolves coach Sam Burgess replies to South Sydney Rabbitohs speculation.

WARRINGTON WOLVES head coach Sam Burgess has flatly denied reports that he will be returning to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The former England international has just recently taken over at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, but he has already been linked with a return to Redfern after a disappointing start to the NRL season.

The Rabbitohs have lost their first three games of the 2024 season, with some calling for Jason Demetriou’s head already.

This has unavoidably linked Burgess to a return after becoming the club’s poster boy during his tenure as a world-renowned player.

Russell Crowe, Burgess’ good friend and co-owner of the Rabbitohs, will be in Warrington this summer, performing at Warrington Parr Hall on July 4th, followed by dates in Dublin on July 1st and Paris on July 6th.

That would only fuel the flames of Burgess’ prospective return to Souths, but the rookie coach has expressed a desire to remain as Warrington’s head coach.

“He’s (Russell Crowe) really content, he’s happy I’m here and enjoying myself here,” Burgess told BBC Radio Manchester.

“I’m here for two years, I love and enjoy being at Warrington, coaching this club and I’m happy where I am.”

Burgess and Warrington are presently leading the Super League and have advanced to the Challenge Cup quarterfinals.
