I am leaving Alabama For Good: Alabama Star Sends Strong Seven-Word message…….

Ja’Corey Brooks writes farewell message after entering transfer portal.

Alabama wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday, and shortly after the news broke, he sent a touching goodbye message to the Crimson Tide.

“First and foremost, as I sit down to write this letter, it is both a bittersweet and reflective moment for me as I bid farewell to this incredible football team, our exceptional coach, and the program that has shaped me in countless ways,” Brooks wrote in a graphic accompanying the message.

“Coach Saban, your constant belief in me and commitment to our growth as athletes and humans has been nothing short of incredible. You’ve pushed me to my boundaries, fostered a strong work ethic, and taught me the value of discipline and collaboration. I am grateful for your guidance, which has improved not just my football skills but also my overall character. You, my teammates, have been my source of inspiration and strength. We have shared accomplishments and lifted each other up at difficult times. I value the camaraderie we’ve developed much, and I’ll always treasure the memories we’ve made on and off the field.

Ja'Corey Brooks: 5 facts on the Alabama football wide receiver

“In closing, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in this remarkable program. Thank you for the memories, the friendship, and the invaluable life lessons. I am honored to have been a part of this team, and I will forever carry the spirit of our football family within me. With that being said I will be entering the transfer portal.”

Brooks played in eight games this season but had been sidelined by a shoulder injury since the LSU game. Before the setback, however, his role within the offense had diminished, as he only caught three passes for 30 yards one year after leading the Crimson Tide with eight touchdown grabs on 39 catches to go along with 674 yards as a sophomore last season.

A former 5-star recruit, Brooks was one of four top-100 receivers in Alabama’s 2021 signing class, and now, all four – Brooks, JoJo Earle, Agiye Hall and Christian Leary – have left.

The NCAA transfer portal’s 30-day window opened on Monday, Dec. 4, and players have until Jan. 2 to decide to utilize this window. Four Alabama players have done so thus far.
