Cavaliers Are Bringing Him Back: After Five Years Of Leaving Cleveland The Star Player Is Finally Coming Back To The Team……….

REPORT: Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell Targets Return As Soon As Friday.
According to The Athletic Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania, the Cleveland guard hopes to return from his nasal fracture as soon as Friday.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have dealt with a number of significant injuries in recent weeks.

However, the team may see a key reinforcement return to the rotation soon.

According to The Athletic Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania, five-time reigning All-Star Donovan Mitchell  is targeting a return to the floor as soon as Friday, when the Cavaliers host the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 27-year-old has missed Cleveland’s last five games due to a nasal fracture that required a procedure to correct. According to the NBA’s 3:30 p.m. ET injury report, he will also miss tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Mitchell has suffered two injuries this month, keeping him out of 12 of the Cavaliers’ first 14 games in March. Cleveland is 5-7 without him in the lineup this month.

Prior to his nasal fracture, he suffered a bone bruise in his left knee, which was treated with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection. Mitchell suffered a nasal fracture in only his second game back from the injury.

In his second season with the Wine and Gold, the guard has shown to be one of the NBA’s top performers. He is seventh in the league in both points (27.4) and steals (1.8, a career high) per game, and he also averages 5.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 0.5 blocks.

Mitchell’s eventual comeback will be both a welcome and necessary boost to a Cavaliers squad hoping to make a deep run in the following 2024 NBA playoffs.
