New Jersey numbers for a few returning longhorns revealed
A handful of new and returning Texas Longhorns players recently chose their jersey numbers.
With all of the new acquisitions and departures, whether through the transfer site or the NFL Draft, certain numbers in Austin have been modified or claimed.
Texas was able to bring in a fantastic recruiting and recruitment class, lead by recently extended head coach Steve Sarkisian, who led the team to a Big 12 title and was one score away from going to the College Football Playoff. According to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, their high school class is ranked sixth in the USA, and their transfer portal class is ranked seventh.
With all of the new faces or numbers that were available, some returning players changed their numbers from the previous season. Let’s look at some of the numerical changes:
Jahdae Barron, DB
Old Number: 23
New Number: 7
The prestigious No. 7 jersey will be donned by Jahdae Barron to honor legendary defensive back Michael Huff, who is now an Assistant Director of Player Development.
