Wahoo Are Bringing Him Back: After Five Years Of Leaving Wahoo He Finally Coming Back Today ……….

A major upgrade for Wahoo computers adds GoPro, lighting, and audio control.
The latest Elemnt Bolt and Roam models will also benefit from integrated training plan features.

Wahoo announced today that the latest generation of Elemnt Bolt and Elemnt Roam bike computers will allow users to operate ANT+ enabled lighting, GoPro action cameras, and music playing directly from the head unit. Users of Humango, Final Surge, Nolio, and Join training programmes will also see these systems integrated into the Wahoo user interface, allowing them to send training plans straight to their head units.

These extra linkages follow the Atlanta brand’s aggressive effort to bring other systems under its umbrella. Wahoo has recently incorporated off-road route integration from Trailforks, a Core body temperature sensor, and a new ‘dark mode’ feature to assist customers in various lighting circumstances.

GoPro control
While the release date for this feature has yet to be announced, Wahoo has released a preview of what it will involve. Users appear to be able to start and stop recording from the head unit screen, as well as cycle through the built-in camera modes and view the overall recording duration.

It is unclear at this time which GoPro models are supported by this upgrade, but given that the most recent GoPro models include voice control to turn on and off, it is probable that users will be able to use functions without ever touching the camera itself.

Smart Light Control
If you have an ANT+-equipped light, such as the Bontrager Flare RT or the Garmin Varia, you can now check its battery condition and manage it from the head unit itself. Again, information are still scarce, but it is thought that the battery status will be a useful field alongside the regular workout statistics for individuals concerned about battery life.

Music control
Whether you’re using the finest headphones for cycling, podcasts, music, or just white noise, you’ll be able to see what you’re listening to, change tracks, and control the volume without having to go into your back pocket for your phone.

Training plan integration
Users of the Wahoo SYSTM and TrainingPeaks platforms can currently send workouts to their head units. Four new platforms (Humango, Final Surge, Nolio, and Join) are now supported with full functionality.

Dark Mode.
While the dark mode is not part of this set of upgrades, it is new and has passed under the radar, so it is worth highlighting. If you have trouble seeing your data fields in certain lighting circumstances, a system upgrade will allow you to switch to dark mode, effectively inverting all white to black and vice versa.
