Travis Perry confirms he’s sticking with Kentucky

Travis Perry has made his final decision.

After it appeared Perry was set to be on the Kentucky Wildcats’ roster, a report from the Paducah Sun came out that indicated a final decision had not yet been made by the Lyon County product.

Perry has now confirmed he’s all-in with this announcement on Twitter alongside head coach Mark Pope.

Perry enters college as arguably the most accomplished player in the history of Kentucky high school basketball. He broke the state career scoring record as a junior and finished his career with 5,481 points.

This past season, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Perry averaged 29.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.9 steals per game while leading Lyon County to the Kentucky Sweet 16 championship and a 36-3 record.

For his efforts, Perry was named Kentucky Mr. Basketball while also taking him the Sweet 16 MVP honors. In the championship game victory over Harlan County, Perry scored a game-high 27 points in the 67-58 win.

Perry is now set to be a valuable member of Mark Pope’s first recruiting class as Kentucky’s head coach.
