Welcome to our midweek round-up of all the major Premier League transfer speculations that have been circulating in the media over the last day or so – and we begin at St. James’ Park, where some new light has been thrown on the future of Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier.
The 33-year-old was connected with a surprise January move to Bayern Munich, and while that never happened, it has fueled suspicion that the England veteran may be searching for a new club in the summer.
However, Fabrizio Romano claims otherwise, according to a Caught Offside story. Apparently, Eddie Howe and the upper management at Newcastle “are still happy with Trippier to stay and be a part of their project,” which is why they rejected Bayern’s bid over the winter. Romano does, admittedly, add “it’s still March, so let’s wait,” which is some excellent ground-covering work. You must admire it.
