A software update enhances the capabilities of Wahoo ELEMNT bike computers.
Wahoo Fitness has released a series of software updates for the ELEMNT bike computers. The most recent ROAM and BOLT devices now support these improvements, which include GoPro Control, Smart Light Control, Music Control, and Training Plan integration.
In a first-of-its-kind upgrade, Wahoo adds GoPro Control to the ELEMNT lineup, allowing customers to manage their GoPro action cameras without ever leaving their handlebars. Cyclists can record footage of their ride using the ELEMNT’s start/stop recording, photo capture, and camera mode adjustments. (The launch date for this feature is TBC.)
The latest Smart Light Control software transforms ELEMNT computers into a centralised hub for bike lighting management. Cyclists may now pair their device with ANT+ compatible smart lights, such as Bontrager and Garmin, to enable control capabilities like turning lights on and off and modifying modes directly from their ELEMNT.
Riders may now stay focused on the road ahead by activating the lights automatically at the beginning of a trip and deactivating them at the end.
Wahoo has also included Music Control to the ELEMNT series, allowing playback control directly from the bike computer. Riders may listen to their favourite tunes, podcasts, or audiobooks without being distracted by their phone, thanks to a dedicated music control screen that includes play/pause, skip, and volume adjustment options.
Wahoo’s new Training Plans connection enables third-party training providers to transmit workout plans directly to ELEMNT bike computers. Using this new API functionality, customers may refine their training regimens and improve their outdoor training experience by incorporating exercises from several providers.
Humango, FinalSurge, Nolio, and Join are among the new platforms that have opted to interface with Wahoo’s API, joining Wahoo SYSTM and TrainingPeaks, which are already established. Wahoo adds that more will follow in the future.
Wahoo has added Dark Mode to ELEMNT computers to better visibility under different lighting conditions.
