Painful Departure: Lowa Star Have Now Requested To Depart And Vow Never To Return Due To……

Iowa OT Kadyn Proctor is reportedly leaving Hawkeyes after two months, likely returning to Alabama.

The Kadyn Proctor era in Iowa is coming to an end after two months.

According to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic, the former five-star recruit who transferred from Alabama to Iowa in January is expected to depart the Hawkeyes and presumably return to the Crimson Tide.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz confirmed Proctor’s departure with a brief statement:

Proctor reportedly spent spring break last week with many former Alabama teammates. He is not allowed to join the transfer portal again until April 15 and is still eligible to play for either Iowa or Alabama this season.

This will be Iowa’s second time missing out on Proctor’s services. The 6-foot-7, 360-pounder grew up in Iowa and was a big admirer of the programme, so he reportedly chose the No. 74 for his jersey to honour former Hawkeyes offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs. As a high schooler in Des Moines, Proctor became an All-American and was listed by Rivals as the top offensive tackle in the Class of 2023, as well as the No. 8 recruit in the country.

Iowa had a verbal commitment from Proctor in June 2022, but he switched to Alabama in December and will play in Tuscaloosa. He started at left tackle immediately and was chosen to the SEC All-Freshman team at the end of the season.

Kadyn Proctor’s brief Iowa career includes NCAA violations and NIL money.
Proctor was one of many Alabama players who sought new opportunities after Nick Saban’s surprising retirement. Iowa was a natural landing place, and he appeared to have arrived on January 20. Proctor made his debut at an Iowa basketball game and registered in classes, but Alabama appeared to have one more pitch to make following the selection of former Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer to succeed Saban.Report: Kadyn Proctor Going Back in Portal - Sports Illustrated Iowa Hawkeyes News, Analysis and More

Proctor’s brief Iowa tenure was anything but uneventful. He caused the programme to self-report a Level III violation to the NCAA after informing media that Iowa recruiting director Tyler Barnes texted him during the team’s early season troubles. He also allegedly received NIL money from The Swarm Collective for a social media post against a vehicle dealership.

Of course, he had an intramural basketball career.

Proctor allegedly did not practise with Iowa, as spring football begins next week. So his spring of 2024 will essentially be a semester abroad in the Midwest, with some side trips along the way.
