Would a Lonzo Ball return benefit the Chicago Bulls?
It has been more than two years since Lonzo Ball last played for the Chicago Bulls. He suffered a knee injury in the middle of the 2021-22 season and has not returned. Since then, the Bulls have lost two successive seasons, including two consecutive Play-In Tournament exits to the Miami Heat.
Ball just accepted his player option for the 2024-25 season, as expected, and will rejoin the team for another year. There have been some signs of improvement in his rehabilitation, but he has yet to sniff the floor.
The Locked On Bulls podcast recently debated whether or not a Ball return would be beneficial for Chicago at this point.
Seeing Ball return to the floor would be an incredible narrative, but for a Bulls club that should be planning for the future, might it be wiser to move on from the point guard?
