NEW DEAL : WAHOO HAS JUST COMPLETED A MASSIVE DEAL

I was persuaded to move from Garmin to the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V2, which is now finally smaller.
The Elemnt Bolt V2 never missed a beat throughout my longest gravel ride or my epic trans-Alpine trek.Wahoo has been trotting out some impressive deals on its indoor trainers and older model head units in recent weeks (you can check out our full Wahoo deals page for the details on all of those) but notably absent – until now – from any discounts was the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V2, which is arguably the best value bike computer on the market today. Of course, you can go cheaper than the latest Bolt. For instance, the Garmin Edge 130 undercuts it in the USA at $191.02 and in the UK at £119.00 at Amazon. But in terms of the features you get for the price – particularly regarding the navigation – there is little that comes close. Especially when a further $50 / £50 is knocked off the asking price, as per the deal the brand unveiled today – direct from Wahoo.

Wahoo Electric Bracket V2

USA: $279.99 at Wahoo, now $229.99

UK: Wahoo was £249.99, but it is now £199.99.

The Elemnt Bolt V2 is an excellent bike computer; it is more affordable than Garmin’s new Edge 540 or Hammerhead’s Karoo 2, yet it is also compact, intuitive, has a fantastic battery life, and simple navigation. Although its value is truly unmatched, there are reasons not to purchase it, such as the desire for a larger screen or even longer battery life.

To provide some further perspective for my personal experience with the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V2, the bike computer was the final straw that convinced me to abandon my lifelong devotion to Team Garmin, which I had been riding for the entirety of my cycling career until late last year.

In particular, I’ve been impressed by how simple the setup and navigation are. Rather than adjusting the device settings directly from the device—which is frequently a laborious procedure in the absence of a touch screen—the setup is managed entirely through an accompanying app on your smartphone.

This enables you to use a larger screen for device setup while maintaining the straightforward button functionality while riding—something I strongly support.

In terms of navigation, I have never experienced any issues with Wahoo’s display because it offers straightforward and easy-to-read mapping. I have used the Elemnt Bolt v2 on numerous off-road and on-road bikepacking trips. My longest journey was a ride from Munich to Florence through the Tuscan hills and Alps. A substantial distance to travel, and the Bolt V2 did it without any problems.

With Bluetooth, you can load maps and routes straight from your phone and download high-quality maps for a specific area. This makes downloading maps ideal for cycling vacations overseas.

Regarding battery life, I mention the Traka 360 gravel, which was my longest ride to yet. 365 km of gravel racing with Girona, Spain, as the starting and finishing point. With navigation enabled, the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt v2 managed a real-world 18h30m ride time with only a little assistance from my external power bank.
