The 99 million player was just taken home by the Steelers

Low-Cost Trade Prospects In 2024, the Pittsburgh Steelers may use to fill the WR2 position.
This off-season, one of the NFL clubs that has generated the most conversation is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their wide receiver core has been one of the primary areas of attention. We’ll talk about potential candidates for the Steelers’ WR2 spot here.

There have been a lot of reports in the last several months regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers dealing for a well-known wide receiver to take Dionte Johnson’s place. This offseason, Johnson was traded by the Steelers to the Carolina Panthers. There were rumors that the Steelers were trying to acquire players such as DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk. These rumors tapered off after the NFL draft.

Wide receiver trades are not a recent tradition for the Steelers. The Steelers didn’t make a trade for a well-known receiver since World War II. It’s possible that the Pittsburgh Steelers are still looking to trade for a receiver—perhaps not a top-tier one.

Candidates for Trade
Although the Steelers have added a number of wide receivers this offseason, none of them will be able to cover the WR2-vacancy. The following candidates are still available for trade by the Steelers.

Tennessee Titans Treylon Burks
This offseason, the Titans radically redesigned their receiving core. Tyler Boyd’s acquisition yesterday appears to have cost Burks his starting position. Burks was a first-round selection in 2021, but he hasn’t yet lived up to the anticipation around his college graduation. Burks still has the ability to be an excellent NFL receiver, making him a cheap trade candidate.

Jahan Dotson, Commanders in Washington
Like Burks, Jahan Dotson was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft but has not performed well. Although he has been a reliable WR2 for the Commanders, they may be seeking to move on now that they have a new front office. Dotson would be inexpensive to acquire and fit right into the WR2 position for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Shuster, JuJu Smith of the New England Patriots
A trade prospect that hasn’t received much attention is JuJu going back to the Steelers. Although he is now with the Patriots, JuJu is not expected to start in 2024. It would be quite inexpensive to get JuJu back and give him an opportunity to return to his former self from his first few years with Pittsburgh.
