Auburn Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze’s first season back in the SEC began 3-0 until the team lost its first four conference games. After winning the following three, the season was marred by three consecutive defeats to New Mexico State, Alabama, and a Music City Bowl defeat to Maryland.

Last season, Auburn’s pass offence was dead last in the SEC, averaging 162.2 yards passing per game. Caleb Burton III only caught 16 receptions for 226 yards in nine games, but he demonstrated potential for growth heading into his sophomore year.

In today’s Auburn Tigers news, a star defensive back confirms his return to the Plains, while additional prospects and transfers pledge to Auburn.
Auburn Tigers, prepare your eyeball emojis because the Auburn football team announced this morning that top defensive back Keionte Scott will return for another season on the Plains.Scott addressed the Auburn family in a video posted to his account on X, formerly Twitter. To to the defensive back, “time in Jordan-Hare is not done.”

Scott came to the Plains as a JUCO talent from Snow College prior of the 2022 season. In 2022, he was the Tigers’ primary nickel, and he developed into a team captain and one of the defensive players around whom everyone rallies.

DJ James, Nehemiah Pritchett, and Jaylin Simpson have all left Auburn’s secondary, so Scott’s return is significant.

Auburn Tigers secure more commitments over the weekend.
While the Auburn basketball squad annihilated Indiana over the weekend, the Auburn football programme added a few new players. On Saturday afternoon, 3-star wide receiver Dylan Gentry committed to the Tigers as a Preferred Walk-On.

Gentry, who hails from Central-Phenix City, is close friends with classmate and Auburn recruit Cam Coleman. The duo will bring their state championship-caliber pass catching to Jordan-Hare Stadium next fall.

The Tigers also received their first transfer from the portal, former Georgia State wide receiver Robert Lewis. The WR spent the weekend on the Plains and quickly realised he belonged in orange and blue.

After three seasons with the Panthers, Lewis has 97 receptions for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. He will have one year of eligibility remaining and will be an excellent mentor to outstanding young wide receivers such as Perry Thompson and Cam Coleman.
