College football quarterback roster: Each Power Four team’s projected starter following spring practice.
These signal-callers will determine the 2024 season.

One of the most important prerequisites for college football national championship contention is an elite quarterback, so all of the sport’s top teams either kept their starters from the previous year or aggressively shopped the transfer portal market this offseason to acquire game-changing talent at the position. Transfers such as Will Howard and Dillon Gabriel are expected to play significant roles in the title race alongside existing starters Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck, and others.

The first half of the summer is critical for establishing the groundwork for the nation’s finest offences, especially in an era when roster changes frequently destroy chemistry between quarterbacks and receivers, offensive lines, and running backs.

Spring practices throughout the country provided signal-callers with an opportunity to bond with their new colleagues, but for teams lacking a clear starter, it was also a key season of competition. Frontrunners emerged in practically every battle, but some may persist into the summer and beyond.
