Toa Lobendahn Injury Update: USC Center’s Knee and Recovery

The USC Trojans experienced another setback when offensive lineman Toa Lobendahn tore his ACL in Saturday’s 42-24 triumph over the Utah Utes.

Continue to check for updates.

Lobendahn Out for Season

According to Ryan Abraham of USCFootball.com, Lobendahn’s knee injury will prevent him from playing in the Trojans’ last five games and a bowl game.

The sophomore sensation entered 2015 with a lot of hype following a fantastic first year at USC. In 2014, USA Today recognised him a Freshman All-American after starting all 13 games, five of which he played at left tackle.

USC’s offensive line has been a disaster in 2015 due to injuries. Chad Wheeler missed the game versus Utah due to a concussion, and Max Tuerk had already been out for the season due to a torn ACL.

The Trojans, who entered the season ranked eighth in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, are off to a disappointing 4-3 start. They did score a big win over the third-ranked Utes on Saturday, but it came at a high price.

Lobendahn has demonstrated his versatility on the offensive line in a short amount of time, beginning on the left side and progressing to centre this year. Because of all the protection issues, USC will be lucky to survive the rest of the year.
