Marcus Lee will leave the JackJumpers after just one season.

Tasmania’s JackJumpers have informed player Marcus Lee that they would not renew his contract after the NBL24 season.

The 6.9ft American joins the team in 2023 after a run with Melbourne United, and has previously played in Italy, Turkey, Puerto Rico, and Spain.

“Marcus has been a great person to have at the club and quickly became very well liked both everyone within the club and obviously by the fans,” Scott Roth, the team’s head coach, stated.

“He brought a great energy to the group and was obviously a great presence on the floor for us.”

Lee appeared in 34 games for the JackJumpers in his only season, starting 32 of them.

He was out for the final two games of the NBL Championship Series due to a knee injury.

“Marcus was a fantastic contributor to our club this season, we’ve loved having both him and Amber in Tasmania and thank them for everything they’ve done for the club,” Christine Finnegan, the club’s CEO, said.

“We wish Marcus and Amber the very best for their future.”

“They have so much to look forward to, especially their long-awaited wedding in July and we wish them every happiness for the special day.”

Lee averaged 6.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game for Tasmania.
