Everyone in women’s basketball was astonished when Hailey Van Lith entered the transfer portal following a poor season with the LSU Tigers. After stepping aside to let Angel Reese shine, she decided to join the TCU Horned Frogs.
Everyone was surprised by the choice, as many programmes wanted her in their roster for the 2024-25 season. Nonetheless, TCU fans are ecstatic that their team has found a star to erase their fifteen-year March Madness drought.

The 5’7″ guard waited two weeks after entering the transfer portal to find the right programme to improve her chances of being drafted in the 2025 WNBA Draft. She wanted to ensure that the squad she’d be joining would trust her with the ball when the game was on the line.
Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun reported how supporters reacted to Van Lith joining the team. They were delighted about the idea of Van Lith collaborating with Haley Cavinder to strengthen the team. Cavinder, on the other hand, chose to return to Miami and complete her final year of eligibility alongside her twin sister.
While the Horned Frogs will be without an exciting tandem to lead them to their first March Madness tournament in over a decade, Haley Van Lith should be more than capable of helping the squad stand out in a crowded Big 12 league.
