Prince to return to TCU for the 2024-25 season

Fort Worth –Sedona Prince obtained a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA and will return to TCU for the 2024-25 season, the 6-7 centre revealed on social media on Wednesday.


at her debut season at Fort Worth, Prince averaged 19.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game while making 21 starts. She was the only player in the country to average 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks per game throughout the regular season. Prince, who is from Liberty Hill, Texas, finished the season ranked second in the Big 12 and tied for fourth in the country in blocks per game, becoming the first player in programme history to lead the league in scoring average.

 

Sedona PrinceShe missed 12 conference games after sustaining a thumb injury in the first few seconds of TCU’s top-25 matchup at Baylor on January 3. Despite being sidelined for seven weeks, Prince was one of ten centres named as Lisa Leslie Award finalists and made the Wooden Award Midseason Top-25 Watch List. She received All-Big 12 honourable mention recognition at the end of the season.

Following Prince’s decision, TCU’s roster for 2024-25 now stands at eight players. She is one of seven returning letterwinners for the Horned Frogs, joining Madison Conner, Agnes Emma-Nnopu, Knisha Godfrey, Una Jovanovic, Aaliyah Roberson, and DaiJa Turner. Graduate student Haley Cavinder, whose signing was announced in November, will also play her final season in Funky Town.
