The Premier Soccer League giants have got positive news before of their critical league match against the KwaZulu-Natal club.
Orlando Pirates have received a significant boost ahead of their PSL match against AmaZulu this Saturday.
Pirates’ target man Evidence Makgopa was sidelined for an extended period of time due to injury. Meanwhile, captain Tapelo Xoki and Nkosinathi Sibisi were sidelined owing to suspension.
The Soweto giants have stated that Makgopa has been working with the complete team in preparation for their next game, while Xoki and Sibisi are available for selection.
“Defensive duo Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki are back in contention for places in the match-day squad after both players missed the trip to Durban due to suspension,” according to the club release.
“Another boost for Pirates is the looming return of striker Evidence Makgopa, who is back in training after more than a month out.”
It remains to be seen whether Sibisi and Xoki will be called up immediately, with Thabiso Sesane and Innocent Maela performing admirably in central defence against AmaZulu last weekend.
On the other hand, the former Baroka FC striker, who has been out for a long time due to injury, will compete for the place with the in-form Tshegofatso Mabasa.
The trio will look to break into Jose Riveiro’s starting lineup against Pablo Franco Martin’s side on Saturday.
Pirates will be anxious for a win to strengthen their chances of finishing in the top two positions in the league.
